Kirby’s Return to Dream Land – Screens + Character Art

Kirby and friends are scheduled to make a second appearance on the Wii on October 24th in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land. The game is a more traditional styled Kirby title with lots of sucking up enemies, spitting them out or using their powers against them. Up to 4 people can play at once. One of my favorite titles on Wii is Order Up. It’s hands down the best cooking game on the system, and maybe one of the best cooking games ever designed. It’s filled with personality and fun gameplay. Now 3DS owners will be able to enjoy all the chopping, slicing, mashing and mincing of Order Up! The game is set to arrive later this year, so check out these yummy first look screens.

SCREENS – Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time 3D is really shaping up nicely. During his GDC Keynote Mr. Iwata stated the game is scheduled for release in June 2011. Check out these brand new screens to see the classic game remastered on the Nintendo 3DS!

FAST Racing League NEW Screens + Info

FAST Racing League is an intense futuristic racing game coming to Wii Ware from developer Shin’en. Other titles you may know Shin’en for would be the fantastic Jett Rocket or addictive Art of Balance. This morning we got our hands on an exclusive first look at some of the gorgeous racing tracks along with lots of never before discussed details on the game! It’s looking really fun and frantic, trust me when I say this is a title to save your Nintendo Points for!

Gameplay: Switch the phase!
The unique gameplay element of the game is the “Phase switching”. You can switch the phase of your ship from black to white. On the tracks there are different elements like speed up plates, jump pads, ceiling tracks, etc. To use those you have to match your phase with the phase of those elements.

So for instance if you are in your black phase and drive over a black speed plate you get a massive boost. If you would have been white you would get slowed down.

To enable phase switched you collect items on the track. Each phase switch will cost you one item.

Content
The game has 12 large tracks to unlock.
The game has 15 items to unlock
The game features three leagues to unlock
The game support 50/60hz, 16:9 and 4:3, Progressive
The game supports 1-4 player splittscreen
The game runs in splitscreen
1-2 player mode in super smooth 60fps
and 30fps for 3-4 player

Beside winning leagues and unlocking new vehicles and tracks there are also 21 challenges included in the game. Each challenge will give you a unique task to solve.

Tech Stuff
The game is utilizing for the fisrt time our new ”software occlusion culling” tech. This tech allows to draw only scenery and objects that are not occluded by other geometry. Otherwise it would have been impossible to have 60fps for 2 player splitscreen. The performance gain allowed also to add many high quality weather effects like Wind, Sunlight, Storm, Rain and Snow.

The CPU racers feature very sophisticated AI (artifical intelligence). This was needed to allow them to us all the different “phase switching” possibilities that make each playthrough so unique.

The source data for the game is roughly 900Mb, crunched down into a 40Mb WiiWare game.

The game features 23 audio tracks, 130 soundfx
A custom jukebox can be unlocked
Release Data
The games developement is finished. We currently wait for the release date from Nintendo. So we are confident to be able release the game pretty soon. We’re also working on a trailer for the game which will come in the next weeks.

Nintendogs + Cats – NEW JP Screens

These latest screens for Nintendogs + Cats showcase some cool updated features. The Pet Shop for example allows you to bring your fuzzy loved ones inside the virtual store with you. There’s also a first look at what appears to be a new game to play with your puppies. More on Nintendogs + Cats will be featured at TheBitBlock for the Japanese launch. Check out the Japanese website for even more new screens.

Conduit 2 – Release Date, Screens & Trailer

This morning SEGA has announced that Conduit 2 will officially be launching in North America on March 22nd, 2011 exclusively on Wii. Alongside this information is a new trailer and several new screens from the game. The new trailer highlights some of the incredible weapons players will have at their disposal in the game, including: the Hive Cannon, which shoots a swarm of insects that explode on contact; the Aegis Device, which allows players to use their enemies own ammo against them; and the AR-C Eclipse, a gun that can render its user completely invisible. Check out the new goodies just below!

SCREENS – FAST Racing League

The talented people at Shin’en are getting ready to launch their latest downloadable title FAST Racing League on Wii Ware. This morning a new batch of official screens have popped up on the game’s website, and it’s looking very impressive. FAST Racing League is a lot like FZero, considering we haven’t seen a new FZero game in a long time this is sure to whet your appetite for insanely fast racing!
