This morning, out of nowhere Nintendo of America has announced Wii Play Motion, coming to the Wii on June 13th, 2011. This is the sequel to the extremely popular Wii Play game which launched in 2007. Wii Play Motion comes bundled with a Black Wii Remote Plus controller and features 12 games that all require the Wii Motion Plus technology to play. Below is the official press release…

With the June 13 launch of Wii Play: Motion, Wii owners will be twisting, turning and enjoying themselves like never before, whether they’re newcomers to the console or have already discovered the fun of the popular Wii Play game. From catching a gust of wind by tilting an umbrella to fending off garden pests by swinging a mallet, each of the 12 included games will have players smiling wide as they use their Wii Remote Plus controller (or Wii Remote with Wii MotionPlus™ accessory) in a variety of interesting, sometimes unexpected ways. Wii Play: Motion comes packaged with a Wii Remote Plus controller – which combines the original Wii Remote controller with the precision of Wii MotionPlus – to deliver great value, precise motion control and immersive social fun that anyone in the household can pick up and instantly enjoy.

I’m all for Mii related Minis so count me in! Expect Nintendo to briefly discuss this title at their E3 2011 press conference which is just days before the game’s launch. Dates outside of North America have yet to be discussed. Thanks to Nintendaan for the heads-up!

The studio behind Jett Rocket, Art of Balance and FAST Racing League is looking to bring intense action to your 3DS! We’ve just gotten word from Shin’en that their first 3DS title will be revealed in the next couple weeks. Although we don’t know much about the upcoming game, we were privy to a small bit of information. It seems the title will be focused on Action and will deliver an absolute unique gameplay experience according to Manfred Linzner of Shin’en. This mystery game is also said to be a technical marvel for the system, so expect it to push the horse power of the 3DS!

Jett Rocket on Wii Ware

But what about the studio’s upcoming FAST Racing League title on Wii Ware? As of now the game has been submitted to Nintendo and is awaiting a release date and price. So at this point it’s all about waiting for Nintendo. With next to no games coming out on Wii anytime soon, it would be nice to see FAST Racing League become available in the next month or so.

Stay tuned for more details on Shin’en’s upcoming 3DS title as well as the first trailer for FAST Racing League.

It’s March 23rd, which means only 1 year ago the exhilarating First Person Brawler known as Red Steel 2 made it’s long awaited debut on the Wii. To this day the title holds a special place in my motion controlled gaming heart. Nothing really gives you the feeling of slicing and shooting down your foes quite like Wii Motion Plus and Red Steel 2.

Not to mention the title has a fantastic art style and features loads of creative characters and environments. I would like to take this time to once again send a special thanks to the devoted team behind Red Steel 2. Ubisoft created one of the best core experiences on Wii, and went from a disappointing first attempt, to a massive turn around with a great sequel!

1 year later the game is still loads of fun, looks great and still works up a sweat. Then again nobody said taking back your home town from those scum Jackals would be easy!

View the video on the website

You haven’t picked the game up yet? Better late than never! Red Steel 2 can be found in most stores for a mere $20.00… seriously… you CANNOT go wrong here. Besides I want Red Steel 3 on the Super Wii HD in a couple of years! Pick it up soon or I’ll be forced to use my Kusagari skills to change your mind!

Unlike Nintendo’s past Wi-Fi service, the Wi-Fi connectivity for Nintendo 3DS will be closer to what fans have wanted all along. We still have a Friend Code for our systems, however we no longer have to put in a separate code for every game. Once you’ve added a friend’s system code you’ll be able to see what game’s they’re playing and meet up with them. It’s a huge step in the right direction for Nintendo’s WiFi service and I’m sure it will get rid of many headaches when trying to game with friends or family on WiFi.
