  1. This definitely look fun!

  2. Man that HD Zelda screenshot just makes me drool………..

The thing i’m hoping it does NOT have… (drumroll) a high price!I mean come on it looks great and all but really its like a new CONTROLLER not a new system. Besides by the looks of it it looks like you need a wii to play on it…

    1. Wrong, It is a new system.

    2. $355-$400 retail is the word…. They only showed the controller…. It is a new system with better specs and new features, they just really have not announced it yet

      1. The life of a gamer

really? cuz it looked like a wii?Must be my eyes playing a trick on me

        1. Look at the picture of the Wii U. It has rounded sides, a round power button, no reset button, and the sync button isn’t hidden behind the memory card flap. It has a similar form factor, but it’s definitely a new console.

well again i still hope not a big price tag cuz I just know that when this comes out the wii may have a few more games come out then… gone :( .Also because I wanna buy it myself and my mom may say “You get something and then you want another thing!” even i probably got another console about 4 or five years ago…

  4. Thenintendohub

Do you need a wii to play it or does the controller just add to the wii

    1. Thenintendohub

Sorry a new console to play on

  5. I gotta say, didn’t actually liked the name, but anyways. The console looks amazing and inovating as always. Another thing I didn’t like was the E3, I mean come on, they didn’t show anything! I really tought there was going to be more nintendo announcements and informations, I didn’t see gameplays and neither great games like Smash Bros or Pikmin. Well I guess we will have to wait MORE to know about the great titles we want to see. Anyways the console just looks great at first impression, congratulations nintendo you did it again!

  6. I like the idea with the inventory being shown on the controller in Zelda, but can someone please explain why we need mini versions of whats on the TV? I’m sorry to be a critic because I adore Nintendo and will probably get this anyways because of the new games, but I honestly, don’t get it. I missed E3, so if there is something I’m missing, please tell me!

    1. No problem Jasmine! :)

Let’s say you want to play, but someone else wants to do something else with the tv: sporting event, news, whatever. With the other consoles, someone would be out of luck, provided this is the only tv. But with Wii U, you can have both! This type of thing happens pretty regularly where I live, so this is greatly appealing to me.

Chances are, there will be games in which the controller screen will be different than the tv screen, or that the controller screen enhances the gameplay. A demo they had in their trailer was baseball, where the controller moves around to where the player wants to pitch, and also to get the player to catch the fly ball.

  7. Does anyone else think the Wii U controller could just be a new controller for the Wii we all know today? I mean,It can do stuff that the Wii already can do,and the new features could still work, too! I mean, the Balance Board and uDraw had completely new controls and still worked out,why not make this new controller a new kind of Wii remote or add-on?

    1. That is because the new games are going to have waaay better graphics and the old wii isnt programed to handle them. Also, they are adding new features to the Wii U

      1. maybe they should make it so the wii’s accesories work along, so no new controllers or balance boards or the like are needed.

        1. Ok,then. I was just thinking having 2 consoles might get out of hand, but thank you for answering, though. At least it works with Wii remotes and Wii remotePlus, and all the add-ons.

          1. i’m not sure about that, though it would be nice

          2. @bagib all wii accesories is going to work on the new wii u it confirmened by Nintendo at e3 press conference

          3. The life of a gamer

I thought they could maybe do a wii syste update? Then I thought how do they change a WHOLE system in a update.Hopefully they have some deal where if your a wii owner or something you get a discount?I dunno but hopefully they can lower the price.

  8. looks suspiciouslly like a combo of wii and ds…

    1. You know, I was just thinking that this had a “giant DS” feel to it. Haven’t not owned a DS, I’m just glad I wasn’t the first to say it. ;)

      1. …! Why does your mii look so much like mine?

  9. What the resolution for the new wii u controller?

    1. 16:9 shows HD

      1. Link is awesome!

Thanks for your help but is it the resolution like 720p or 1080p because you just said it was 16:9 shows HD

        1. Link is awesome!

I also changed my name just if you were wondering that josh just turned into Link is awesome but they have the same icon.

  10. THIS LOOK FRIGGIN AWESOME!!!

  11. wii “u” they tried to say 2 ( u and 2 sound almost alike)! LOL!

  12. I can hear their new slogan already: Wii would like to play with U

  13. I kept thinking this is meant to be additional item for the already exisiting Wii and not a new mini-Wii system…. wonder if all the exisiting Wii games will be playable on this one or not :S guess not? lol

  14. it just occurred to me that the Wii U would be perfect to play a pictionary game xDD i mean, the one who has to draw could see the word in the controller screen and then draw it using the touch screen, while being visible (the drawing) to everyone on the tv…
actually, it would be good with many board games or trivia games (touch screen to select answer), wow there are so many possibilities XD

  15. or pokemon snap on the wii u, using the controller as the camera :D DDD

  16. sophie longden

OMG!!! im so getting myself one of these :D DD

  17. I’ve heard you can only use 1 of these per console, that’s pretty lame actually…

  18. can you get netflix?
