Nintendo 3DS US Launch & Price ANNOUNCED!
Save your pennies kids because we’ve finally gotten official word that Nintendo 3DS will cost $249.99 in the USA and release on Sunday, March 27th, 2011. Sadly as of yet we do not know which games will launch with the system. Nintendo seems to have forgotten this bit of information during their press conference…
It releases on March the 25th in Europe. The price is unknown right now.
Although expected, I’m curious to know what the general public thinks about the price point Nintendo has decided to launch with. I mean, you could by a brand new home console for about what they want for a 3DS. The $249.99 price tag is in line with the PSP launch price from a few years ago but historically the PSP hasn’t sold as much as the lower priced DS.
While I agree that it is quite high, the 3DS is quite a beast, the price point is I think reasonable for as much of a capable system as this
And you could just wait a month or two and the price will go down some.

I’m not into the hype right now, I’ll just stick with my DS. I’ll probably wait until they do a price drop. I just wish they were still continue to make games for the DS instead of making games for the 3DS. At least there are thousands of games available on the DS.
