Such an amazing game, its not surprise it got a 10. DKCR damn well deserves it. IGN always has to nitpick at stupid little things. Just appreciate the game and all the effort that was put into it.

Great, great review! Josh – This review showcases just how great a job you do. Your criteria for reviewing games is spot on. I wish more outlets had your sensibility and approach to reviewing games. Your presentation, editing, script, on-screen personality, everything is just fantastic.
Anyway, a couple of things mentioned caught my attention. Saying this game is as visually impressive as the Mario Galaxy series is saying a lot. As great as NSMB and Kirby’s Epic Yarn look I still feel Galaxy has those OMG visual moments. I’m a sucker for visuals and great art direction so this comparison just excites me even more to add this game to my library.
The other thing was your comments about replay-ability and I couldn’t agree more. Most of my favorite games as a child were playing the same levels over and over again because they were just plain fun.
Lastly I know this must be a busy time of year but any chance we will see some Epic Mickey coverage? I have this game coming later this month but I just want to see what a fellow Wii platform fan’s take on this title is. It’s been getting mixed reviews to say the least but I’m interested in seeing your opinion.

I am itching to play this, Goldeneye, and Kirby’s Epic Yarn! They are all amazing. Gotta wait til Christmas though.
So this gets a 10 and Kirby gets a 9? What was the deciding factor? Aren’t they basically the same thing with different skins?

the backgrounds of DkC returns are a lot more vivid and play a greater role in gameplay
which i personally think makes it a much greater game
You really need to learn the differences with platforming games…

This game is amazing, could be the best Donkey Kong Country? I think it’s better than the originals! And yes, Josh, it’s incredibly hard! Lost like at least 20 lives on each stage in the factory world. Did you notice that there was always one small part that you had to do over and over again in every later level? haha

Personally, this game should have gotten a 9.5. However, saying that, this game should not be rated any lower than that. Great game. By the way, you’re a natural reviewer.
