Mario Sports Mix to feature WiFi support
During Nintendo’s 2010 conference in Japan a few nights ago they showed off a quick image of the box art for Mario Sports Mix on Wii. Displayed in the bottom corner of the box is the Nintendo WFC logo, though Nintendo has yet to mention this game supporting online functions. It’s safe to say the game does in fact feature some sort of WiFi functionality however we’re not sure if it’s a simple matter of comparing high scores or actually being able to compete online with friends. Aside from possibly uploading your best score in some sort of mini games to a wifi leader board, it seems most logical that the WiFi would in fact be for playing the main sport games online with friends. We’ll keep a very close eye out for more information.
Mario Sports Mix releases on Nov. 25th in Japan.

Any news on Mii Usage ?
As of right now we have only seen Mii characters in the audience. Playable Miis as well as some Final Fantasy characters are a possibility though.

Hopefully it is online VS Wi-Fi and not leaderboards. I don’t have much of a reason to buy it without Wi-Fi.
I’m looking forward to this game for sure… seems like it should be pretty easy to make the full game playable online with friends. (Strikers does it just fine and I don’t see much difference here.) I just hope if it does, that you have a way to friend up players that you discover during online play. Strikers is ALWAYS random and there are so many RINGERS out there for that game that it takes the fun out. I wish I could be offered to friend up with someone after a game if they were particularly good match for me. I am looking forwards for this game I just hope it is not like Mario and Sonic at the Olimpic games the wifi is only for leader boards.

That’s a smart move by Nintendo to give this game Wi-Fi. If they didn’t, this game wouldn’t sell much.
