A Statement from WiiFolder Staff

For the past week we have been taking an overview of WiiFolder and pin pointing the site’s strong points as well as weaknesses. Here are some of the conclusions that have been drawn by our team of highly intelligent monkeys.

The Google Calendar featured on the site has never served as a reliable source of upcoming coverage. First and foremost this needs to be fixed. As of May 1st everything displayed on WiiFolder’s Google Calendar will be accurate and posted on time according to the information provided. Please note that this doesn’t exclude the rare possibility of a date being altered should some drastic change come up and prevent the content from happening on time.

We’re working on several ways to allow fans to share their favorite WiiFolder content through a variety of sources such as , Twitter, Google Buzz and more. These methods have already been implemented to the site and are easily available just below every post. By sharing the content you like with others you’re not only helping WiiFolder shine brighter but also showing everybody what amazing taste you have in gaming websites. ;-)

There will soon be a few new smaller features added to the site. For example a ‘Random Video’ button which will guide you to a random video. This is aiming to be an easy way to quickly introduce WiiFolder content to a new viewer. It’s also fun for long time WiiFolder fans who may just want to re-watch a random video.

There will also be a quality increase in the production of video content. More polish will be added to The Fold, The Pipeline and of course Video Tours. One example of this would be the newly improved episode of The Fold which now has trivia questions and facts about the game being played in the corners of the screen. In order to keep the site interesting and fresh we believe it’s also important to introduce new video content which strays await from the usual features WiiFolder offers. Having said that I’m personally very hopeful that some ideas attempted in the past will make a return very shortly.

In closing I would like to say thanks to everyone who comes back to WiiFolder again and again for the site’s content and hope you continue to do so. Please know that as of May 1st video content is going to be at an all time high and our Google Calendar will be a trustworthy source for upcoming coverage.

  1. Awesome news, I am a new visitor to the site and really love the videos you do. What happened to that cool Metroid suit you had made?

    1. I no longer own the suit, however I do still have all the footage we filmed and might end up using it for something on the site one day.

      1. FragileBehemoth

One day? Why not soon? I’ve waited a long time for that video. >:l

  2. Great Josh! I’m looking forward to what this site has to offer. I’m especially glad that you’ve kept this up over the years, and I’m sure many people will agree with me.

Highly intelligent monkeys, eh? Hope you’re not scraping the bottom of the DK barrel, Josh. ;)

  3. You have a staff????

    1. I know.. I thought it was just him and 3 of his friends. XD

      1. can’t you hear in some of his vids he says to nick someones not getting paied this week

  4. Wait, does this mean no video tour for Monster Hunter Tri!? I was really looking forward to your coverage of this game.
And btw WOW! your videos are already of higher quality than Nintendo’s and your going even higher?!?! I cant wait to see this!

    1. dude if you wanna buy it dont hesitate. you dont need a video tour to help you decide, trust me..its freakin epic game

  5. …of high intelligent monkeys!

  6. The strength of the site were always the video tours. I recently rewatched the Jungle Beat video – still one of the best videos here.

Drop the rest IMO, unless this is all practice for a future career. And add options to hide facebook and all the other stuff. Not the share buttons, they are fine.

  7. can’t wait for the random video button.
But do Wiifolder got like a E-mail so people can pm You guys?? please answer :)

    1. There’s a contact link at the bottom of the page.

  8. I often go onto the “live” section of the site as it always shows a random video. Its always cool to see the “1 viewer” note on the play bar!

Oh and I had no idea you’d actually filmed using the zero suit! I thought you’d just given up on it. Also as well as the quality of the videos (I personally feel they are high enough), I would like to see an improvement in the quantity of the videos. How about dipping back into older games, like Wii sports Resort or Brawl?

    1. wow i was watching live just now and it actually went up to 2 viewers!

  9. I guess I don’t feel soo bad now, I’ve been looking for the Zero Suit video ever since the “countdown” … I take it from Josh’s comment that it was never made? I was worried I missed it … Bummer!

  10. chicken fangas

Hey Josh, if you really want to improve your quality I suggest looking into a Hauppauge HD PVR so you can capture your Wii footage in 480p with component cables.

    1. Our Wii footage is already captured using component cables.

      1. chicken fangas

Hmm.. are you sure your Wii is set to 480p? Because your videos don’t look as crisp as my HD PVR captures…

        1. When I mention improving quality I’m referring to production value in editing, not really video clarity. WiiFolder videos are already captured at the highest level of quality you can get from Wii.

We use a Pinnacle chip installed in a PC to capture footage.

  11. Not bad, every update made, is a step towards more awesomeness.

  12. Hey Josh, I was wondering if you do all of this stuff for the website and more how do you have time for a job.

  13. Good to see the improvments. Question though. Does this mean that “missing episodes” of the fold like Wii Fit and such show up now? And hopefully the zero suit thing also?
    Just asking!

    Loving Content.

  14. Is The Pipeline cancelled for the last 2 weeks?

lol ur comment went of the page

  16. I like the idea for a random idea button and are you going to make videos of older games for wii like brawl or city folk.

  17. Thank God your finaly fixing that calendar.

  18. Josh could you please make a time for your live videos that is convinient to both america and uk? Or at least put the videos on the website after they’ve gone live.

  19. how many staff does work in wii folder??

  20. All right nice. Hey wait a minute. Haven’t we heard this before?

  21. I always wanted to see bloopers of what goes on behind the scenes. Do you throw Nick out the window after every episode of The Fold? Who knows?

  22. It’s great for the site overall, so I’m happy for everyone who’ll enjoy the fixes.

I’m still sad about having no option to play videos on the site that’ll run on the Nintendo Wii’s Internet Channel browser.
    :(

  23. where can i get the zero suit i really need it
    pleeeease answer back

    1. The suit was custom made in japan by a latex company. It cost around $650 – not cheap.

      1. specifically what company made the suit?
