The Fold – 8-Bit Bonanza: Sport Games
Every so often we like to switch things up and check out different kinds of games on The Fold. This morning we’re jumping back into the past to check out 3 of the first Sport games released on the original NES. All of these titles can be downloaded for your own enjoyment via the Wii’s Virtual Console for 500 Wii points each.
In this episode we’re testing a new feature to the show. You’ll notice that we’ve added in 3 extra side ‘games’ to hopefully make watching more enjoyable. Let me know if you like the idea, if you find it distracting or maybe you just don’t care either way.

They’re recorded with a capture device that allows the computer to directly record the output of the Wii.

It’s so awesome to see how you guys have so much fun with a game like that.
The old-skoolness of this game is cool, but I couldn’t possibly have an fun with these old games anymore. I would never waste five bucks for such a super simple game either or I have to be really bored.

And the mini “games” are a nice extra feature to your show. Now the spaces next to the footage and next to you playing the game make more sense.

I really liked the question thing josh! and I think 8-bit games sports games can be fun as well. even if the graphics aren’t the best it’s still extremely fun too play.

All in all the new feature was good but there was very little of it only three of them. I would prefer to see a lot more, it seemed too little just having those few
God u guys make me feel so old. I was born when those games came out. I was toddler though. And I had those games. I wish Nintendo get World Cup Soccer and Beach Volleyball in the WiiShop. I love those 2 games.
I know you were singing beat it
When your off sides it means one player on your team is past the other player with the ball. So if you go past the ball when the other team has the ball then its off sides. I think it only applies for uhhh mid fielders though. Your Welcome.

Am I the only one who thinks that 8-bit sports games can be fun for MORE than 20 minutes? I love all the classic 8-bit games, well, at least the once i’ve played.
Oh! and which one of these 3 games was the best? I have 500 points and I dont know what to do with them so… yeeeeeee… you get my point.

to get an offside a player must pass all opposing defense players and get the ball from a pass
… sometimes I wish there was an extra-low quality option….

the offside rule is when the player is in front of the ball on the opposite side
a ofside is when you pass to a player that is behind the last defender. josh and nick are the best!!!!!
offside is when for example nick passes his player that is behind joshs last player btw great vid
It may be the timer from Punch Out
maybe the offside bit is about the numbers each player have?above their heads. like 2 is offside and 1 is striker.
