Red Steel 2 – Website Open + Dated
Usually we do not post random gaming news on WiiFolder, but for this I’m making an exception. The official Red Steel 2 website has opened and with it we get an estimated release date. No screen shots or video yet, but you can at least drool over the artwork!
Red Steel 2 should be arriving in stores Holiday 2009, which is actually sooner than we expected. Previous announcements stated the game was due out in 2010.

Is this a game? If so for what system?
I would direct you to Josh’s tour of Red Steel 1, but it seems that he’s deleted it. Shame, that was one of my favourite ones… Actually, I downloaded it. Sweet.
Anyway, this game looks like it will be kickass. I always thought the first one was seriously underrated, so with a ‘futuristic’ setting to this one I hope the devs have a had a bit more fun.
This is a gaming site called WiiFolder, so one should assume that the content published within would be dealing with games on the Wii. Hence, it is true, this is a Wii game.
Anyway, I’m eager to see more on this. I heard some people were bummed that 1) it’s cel shaded 2) it’s aimed for T rating 3) no multiplayer. But all of those are fine by me.
Consider me interested at least. I passed up the first game due to poor reception, but if this one turns out well I’d definitely be willing to give it a go.
Cel Shaded, where in the hell did you her that from? As far as I can tell no screen shots or video have surfaced yet and I don’t remember Ubisoft saying anything about it. In the Nintendo power teaser reveal they first said it will be bloodier and online. In any case, as long as the sword play is 1:1 (it uses motion plus) and the shooting is at least as good as Metroid Prime 3, AND the game is glitch free then I’m game. The first one was fun but flawed, hopefully this one will be what the other was supposed to be.
The NP reveal actually said nothing about blood OR online.
It just said “The biggest action game of 2009″
I remember from an episode of the Wiicast when Will (the host of the show) said their was a tease in Nintendo Power from Ubisoft saying that it was going to be “Big better bloodier and online”. At least that’s what I remember.

im hoping that rumor is false.
That wasn’t the teaser reveal that I was referring to. The one I was referring to was released about a year ago, not this year. The Bloodier and Online thing was mentioned sometime in the middle of 2008. Of course that could have all changed by now, so what do I know

Oh, and the first reveal I believe showcased a version that was scrapped. The one about it being bloodier.
