How does a wheelie help you while racing?

It gives you a small boost at the cost of control, I think.
A wheelie increases your speed, but you cannot turn anywhere near as fast as normal.
Josh why do all your games have Japanese writing because can’t you just set the language on your Wii to English?
Gee, I wish I could play that well… I suck with those fast bikes, because they turn too fast when sliding…
