I’ve read reports that after Nookingtons, Nook can ask you if you want to improve the shop in some way (better hours, more items or a bit of both).
Choosing hours downgrades you to Nook ‘N’ Go
Choosing items keeps Nookingtons
Choosing a bit of both downgrades you to Nookway
Whether this is true or not I couldn’t say, but I have heard stories from different sources that this is the case…
