Through the official JP website & scans for the game I can confirm that this is the full Character Selection in Mario Super Sluggers. There are 40 playable characters in all. 32 from the Gamecube game and 10 NEW characters will take the field.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say that Nintendo is trying to merge the Donkey Kong series into the Mario spinoff series. I’m not surprised if Kranky Kong makes it into the next mario spinoff game. I’m all for old guys playing golf/tennis and beating the smoof out of everyone else.
I hope by Tiny Kong they are refering to the DK64 version, and not the creepy teenage Diddy Kong Racing DS version…
